Fall, it's Time to Come Out of Hiding.

I've been spending some time revamping my blog and making it look a little more fall-like. Now it's about time the weather started feeling like it! 90 degrees at the end of September is just not quite right, but then I guess by the end of January we will all be complaining about it being 40 degrees out with the wind blowing. As we move into Fall, school really kicks into high gear; being in the School of Ed., taking licensure courses, and participating in an internship definitely requires some dedication on my part; this is the first semester I get to teach lessons in my internship; I teach 4 this semester, the first of which is on October 1st. I enjoy the 3rd grade classroom I'm in and the school I'm at; I get 8 year olds on Mondays and Fridays and Tuesdays and Thursdays I get to babysit 2 adorable kids who are 4 and 18 months, so I get a good age range throughout the week. My crazy schedule has been made so much easier through apartment living. It has been awesome! I have great roommates and it is definitely easier to deal with school stress and my more complex schedule. Take a look at our humble abode:

One.

I've been sponsoring a now 10 year old boy from Colombia for the past five years and it has been amazing to watch him grow and flourish. As I get ready to sponsor a second child, I want to go ahead and give a Compassion shout-out and encourage you to be a sponsor! Watch this short video to learn about how Compassion got started, how large it has grown, and how powerful their impact has been:

3rd Grade Quote of the Day

During lunch today:
Male Child: "Ms. Frey, what's that?
Me: "It's a salad"
Male Child: "Oh....(pause) I eat that on occasion"
Me: laughing, "I'm glad you do"

Fresh Baked Bread Awesomeness

Behold, I present you with a sneak peek at my very first bread machine creation! It tasted pretty awesome, and made it smell like a bakery up in here. And check out the top on that thing, not really sure why it looks like that but I guess every loaf is unique?

It's gonna be good with some PB + Nutella!

Moved In!

Woot! All moved into my apartment in Greensboro as of Saturday, and I couldn't be more excited :) It's amazing having my own room again and just being able to have all my STUFF in one spot. My biggest challenge right now is food and meals; I've not really ever had to cook for myself before, and while my cooking skills have improved, my meal planning and solo grocery shopping experience are sort of limited; I'm whipping out the coupons and the recipes and hoping it all turns out alright :)
It's hard to believe classes start Monday; while I'm nervous about the intensity of my schedule, I'm excited to start interning in a classroom again, and taking more teaching related classes. I switched my minor a few weeks ago from Religious Studies to Human Development and Family Studies so I can maybe eventually go back and get my Birth-K licensure, and this minor will make it easier to do so.
I am also thrilled to be back at Daystar Christian Fellowship after a 6 month leave period. I'm gearing up to lead my small group this semester and I'm jumping back on the nursery team to help out with the toddlers!
God's provision never ceases to amaze me. I'm so thankful for my family who has been immensely helpful in getting me moved, I'm thankful for my friends and 2 great roommates, I'm thankful for my church family, I'm thankful for a place to live, and I'm just thankful for where God has me in my life right now.

Blog Blurb

I'll just have to do a blog blurb because my life sounds so uneventful at the moment! I have to constantly say to myself "Just think of the days a month from now where you will be wishing you had a free minute (or second for that matter)".
I was so excited because today I got to see all my peeps from the Tap leadership team; I didn't realize how much I missed them until I saw them all! God is going to do some amazing things through the Tap and through Daystar in the coming months and we are just excited and gearing up.
This weekend I'll be traveling to Lenoir Rhyne college for Teaching Fellows Junior Conference, so it will be good to hopefully learn some things and see all my TF friends; plus, I get to see my roomie for the first time in 6 months, so I'm grinnning from ear to ear about that :)
I found out today that I officially got accepted into Teacher's Academy for elementary ed at UNCG, woot! halfway there baby. How scary is that?
And I have one confession to make. I like Harry Potter. You don't understand, this is a major deal. I have vowed over the last few years to my bro who is obsessed and insisted I would like them, that I would NOT watch the movies or read the books. I just wasn't gonna do it. Well, mom managed to suck me into watching the first movie so of course I had to watch number 2...and 3...and 4...and 5....and 6. So, you know how it stinks to have to give in/tell someone they were right?, yea, I had to do that with my bro...ughhh. I'll start reading book number one ASAP and then hopefully have finished through the 6th one by the time the 7th movie comes out.
I still have pics to put up from Australia, some of them I need to save from other people off facebook, but here are some I took when I went to a garden/park in Townsville with my friends Rayna and Mel; such a pretty area with lots of neat trees and plants.

This spider had some cool spiny things coming off his back

Such pretty water lilies, couldn't help taking several pics of them...
